Our Gallery is named after St
Aebba, Princess of Northumbria
and daughter of King Aethelfrith.
and daughter of King Aethelfrith.
In the 7th Century she became Abbess of the most northerly Northumbrian
monastery at St Abbs Head.
Sister of St Oswald and St Oswin and a contemporary of St Cuthbert,monastery at St Abbs Head.
Eddius described her as a very wise and holy woman.
We aim to share with you work inspired by the ancient traditions of
Northumbria.
